Welcome to my series of notes about my adventures as a healing arts enthusiast. I am an acupuncturist and reiki practitioner in Pacific Palisades, California. I love my job and I love my life. It’s not always easy, but I believe it’s all part of the journey. Hopefully, a fun adventure…
My adventure started around the time I was 16 and began exploring different religions and all things metaphysical. Several years later when I got my first job and my first paycheck in the entertainment industry, I was so excited because I could finally get an acupuncture treatment. I realize this might seem odd, but to me, it wasn’t. The father of my best friend growing up was an acupuncturist and I had always heard of this magical medicine- I was completely intrigued! Thus, my journey began.
After almost ten years in the business, I was searching for something different. I really enjoyed helping people, but wasn’t sure what that meant for me specifically. One day, I was on the phone with my old friend and he just said, “Carmen, why don’t you become an acupuncturist?!” It was the a-ha moment of my life. I was so passionate about acupuncture. It had really been my anchor all those years and yet it never occurred to me that I could do it too.
So here I am today, still excited by this beautiful medicine and I look forward to sharing it with you. I truly hope that I can provide for you what my acupuncturist has for me all these years.
In addition to my private acupuncture practice in Pacific Palisades, I am passionate about my work at Echo Malibu, an amazing treatment center for teens. The kids never cease to inspire me. I am also happy to have completed a year long post graduate program in Classical Five Elements acupuncture with my long time acupuncturist and mentor, Neil Gumenick. I truly love practicing this specialized system of acupuncture, I just feel that it provides a certain depth that I find incredibly grounding and energizing.
I hope my experience will help support your wellness journey. If you like what you’re reading, please remember to sign up for for the blog and newsletter!
